Easter Activities for Kids!

Here are some of our favourite Easter-themed activities to enjoy with your kids during the holidays!

eggs dyed with food colouring

Dying Easter Eggs

After hard boiling your eggs, mix your food colouring with water and two or three tablespoons of vinegar. The vinegar helps the food colouring stick to the eggshell.

Place your hard-boiled eggs into the coloured water and soak for about 10 minutes before removing them and rinsing them off!

bee friendly herb garden

Grow an Easter Garden

Planting wheatgrass is easy to handle for the smallest of hands and shoots should appear within a week.

Easter should bring some warmer weather, so it is a great opportunity to start planting. In our T-Rex kit, we send everything you need to create a wonderful garden.

If you want to help your local bee population get your children to design and plant their own bee-friendly herb garden from our Bee box. This box is a fantastic way to learn more about how fascinating bees are and the huge impact they have on our ecosystem.

Or for something a little different our Wild Flower Seed Bomb Mini-Kit is a fun way to bring more colour and wildlife to your garden.

bunny shaped bread made by a child

Baking

Our own children love to bake and of course, then eat goodies they have made.

Baking bread is also surprisingly simple and you and your children can have lots of fun creating different animals out of the dough to bake in the oven. Try baking some bread and turning them into different woodland creatures.

Or throw a pretend party for a mix of wonderful characters from our Party kit.

child rolling out biscuit dough

Baking something sweet is a wonderful way to spend time together. Chocolate rice crispy cakes can be turned into cute bird nests.

Or celebrate your love for each other by baking heart-shaped biscuits from our Love kit.

All of these baked goodies would make wonderful home-made gifts for grandparents and friends.

child decorating playdough easter eggs

Decorating playdough eggs!

If you need 5 minutes to make yourself a tea or take quick phone call this is a great activity for children to dip in and out of.

Use an oval biscuit cutter and leave out any loose parts you may have - felt balls, pasta, and wooden beads would all work well.

There is something strangely satisfying about squishing loose parts into playdough!

child using a potato masher to stamp easter eggs

Painting

If you are feeling adventurous make your own Easter decorations by using a potato masher in paint to create Easter eggs.

This is really good fun, just may get a little messy!

If you like the sound of these activities but are limited on time, we can send you everything you need directly to your home every month. All you need to do is make yourself tea, open the box and get ready to play with your child.
