May’s Box: The Lonely Beast
Welcome to May’s Box!
May’s activity box is inspired by the action-packed story ‘The Lonely Beast’ written by Chris Judge.
The Lonely Beast is a humorous story about a beast whose determination to find friends takes him on a daring quest across the sea, over mountains until he arrives at the city. The story is complemented by vibrant and quirky illustrations which will have your children chatting about what they can see.
This box is about determination, resilience, adventures and touches on the concept of loneliness.
This box will be posted on Tuesday 4th May.
The box includes everything you need to complete four activities and many more featured on our website.
Included in this box:
The book and everything you will need to complete the following activities:
Making your own clay Beast
An under the sea small world
Baking scones
Growing cornflowers
Plus many more activities from our activities section!
Our sibling box will contain enough resources for two children to complete all the activities.
Please Note:
This activity box is not suitable for children under 36 months and contains small parts that may be choking hazards.
Please note that our boxes are an educational resource. Adults will be required to do the activities with their child and children cannot be left unsupervised with the box and it’s contents. You must supervise your children while they interact with the resources in this box.
The sensory rice is made from long-grain rice which has been coated in CE tested paint. It is not edible. If the rice gets wet, please dispose of off immediately.
Although the playdough may look and smell appetising, due to its high salt content it is not edible. This playdough contains flour (gluten), coconut oil, cream of tartar, salt, food colouring, glycerine and thyme.
Our playdough is handmade using food grade, toxic-free ingredients. All our playdough is independently tested by a lab to UKCA EN17-3 to ensure that no chemicals come into contact with your child’s skin.
Although we have taken every precaution possible, we cannot guarantee that there are no traces of nuts or other allergens in our products. Our boxes are made in an environment in which nuts and other allergens are used.
Whilst we work hard to produce consistent colours in our playdough and sensory rice, there could be slight colour variations due to the dyes used and colours may vary slightly between batches.
The scone ingredients and sensory rice will be sent in compostable bags. Please places these bags in your compost or green bin.
