Tummy Time

Health professionals like babies to have plenty of tummy time. Apart from my niece, I have never met a baby that liked tummy time. My son hated it. So we would often hold him over a toy for him to explore.

Tummy Time with a Homemade Sensory Toy

This was a home made sensory toy. Really simple to make; a zip lock bag, cheap coloured shower gel and silver glitter. It was a great toy for my baby to look at the colours and be able to manipulate the shower gel.

Tummy Time with Water Beads

Placing water beads into a zip lock bag is also another nice idea for baby to look and manipulate during tummy time. I bought the water beads online and you only need the smallest amount. The pot that I bought when my son was tiny is still quite full. They need to be soaked for approximately 6 hours so that they grow. I reused the water beads in this zip lock bag a number of times. I just freshened the water beads up with water every now and then.
